The International Centre of the University of Pécs is organizing seven summer schools in 2023 within the framework of the Pécs Summer School program. Students of foreign partner universities and students of the University of Pécs can participate in the courses. Academic programs are provided by faculty, while programs are organized by the International Centre's Study Abroad and Summer School Office.
In April, the Intercultural Sensitivity Erasmus + BIP program took place, which was attended by UP students in addition to Slovakian and Italian partner university students. In July, the European Studies Summer School starts with the participation of 50 international students, from German and Indian partner universities and students coming from 3 continents. In addition, for the second time, a group of 40 French students from ESAIA will take part in a 4-week English language and intercultural course offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The summer university program ends with a week-long Debate Tournament for students of the Compostela university association.
This year's Pécs Summer School program series will be attended by 230 students who come to UP from many countries of the world.
In addition to classes, the Study Abroad and Summer School Office of the International Centre also provides a wide variety of cultural programs for them, with the aim of getting to know the city of Pécs, the region and gaining an intercultural experience of a lifetime. The programs include museum visits, quiz evenings, intercultural evenings, evenings of Hungarian flavors, wine tasting, sports quizzes and beach parties.
The Pécs Summer School program was launched in 2016 by the then Centre of Foreign Affairs with the aim of organizing an increasing number of summer schools at the University of Pécs every year. The main goal has been to create a so-called "Summer Trimester" to enrich the summer with a growing number international summer school programs in various subject areas.
After successful summer programs, more and more students return to UP for semester-length training or even full degree programs.
Due to the increasing number of summer university programs, UP has become a market leader among Hungarian higher education institutions in this field as well.
