The University recently hosted the second edition of Career Night, a networking event designed to connect Applied Science and Engineering students with top industry leaders and career guidance. The night was hosted at the Chancellery’s hall. Industry representatives from top companies like BAT Hungary Pécs and Eurostyle Systems Bonyhád Kft, Prodiák School Association, alongside members from the International Centre and the Legal Department, attended the event.
The event commenced with a quick welcome and rolled into some fast-paced company introductions. Each company shared a sneak peek into their work culture, the skills they are looking for, and what they’re offering. A dynamic panel discussion ensued, covering topics such as career growth, work environment, and specific job requirements. University representatives also shared the institution’s initiatives to support students in finding meaningful employment after graduation. The night ended with a casual networking session allowing students to engage directly with company representatives and get personalized advice.
Throughout the evening, companies promoted opportunities for internships and mentorship programs, emphasizing the value of hands-on experience, particularly in areas like automotive interior design. Plus, their Mentorship Programs offer real guidance on career decisions. International students were briefed on work opportunities, including the option to work up to 30 hours per week during the semester or 90 days per year. After graduation, students can apply for a 9-month Job-Seeking Visa, which enables them to search for employment related to their degree in Hungary.

An Immigration Office rep shared insights on Hungary’s job scene, noting a big need for skilled workers. A degree really boosts students’ options in the region, where the University of Pécs is one of the major hiring hub.

The Career Office will also soon be accessible in every faculty, offering specialized guidance tailored to different fields of study.
