As part of the International Seasons event series, the Hungarian Dance House programme was organised for foreign students of PTE, hosted by the Zengő band. The aim of the Dance House, organised by the International Centre, was to introduce Hungarian folk dance and folk music traditions to the foreign students studying here.
The evening started with a short concert by the Zengő band, led by Lajos Bergics, during which the students were also introduced to special folk instruments.
Afterwards, the dance floor was opened. The students learned a number of folk dance steps and a Hungarian folk song.
More than 100 participants from 13 countries enjoyed the programme immensely.
The Indonesian, Kyrgyz, Japanese, Russian, Colombian, Brazilian, Nigerian, German, Mexican, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Pakistani, Turkish and Hungarian students danced and sang all night long, enriching themselves with a unique and high quality cultural experience.
